An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck the southern Philippines on Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). This tremor comes a week after two powerful earthquakes were recorded in the Southeast Asian archipelago.

Earthquake Details
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 69 kilometers, approximately 100 kilometers from the municipality of Dapa, in the province of Surigao del Norte, in the southern part of the country.
Recent Seismic Activity
The previous week, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.4 and 6.7 hit the eastern part of the island of Mindanao, resulting in at least eight deaths. At the end of September, another earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 struck the island of Cebu, causing the deaths of 75 people and the destruction of approximately 72,000 homes.
