Tunisian Company Baraka Receives Russian Certification as First Tunisian Organic Date Producer, Gains Official Export Authorization to Russia
The Tunisian firm Baraka has been awarded a Russian certification, becoming the first Tunisian producer of organic dates to obtain official permission to export its products to Russia and to display the Russian official organic label.
The Russian accreditation body Roskachestvo‑Organic confirmed the decision, emphasizing that the certification guarantees that Tunisian dates meet the most stringent Russian organic quality standards. According to the state news agency TASS, this recognition opens new prospects for Tunisian agricultural exports.
With this distinction, the number of Tunisian companies certified by the Russian body for organic production rises to five, surpassing Spain, which has only four firms holding the same recognition. This achievement strengthens Tunisia’s position in the global organic market and highlights the up‑scaling of its agricultural exports.
