Arrest Warrants Issued for Several Sales Intermediaries
The Ben Arous Court of First Instance prosecutor's office issued arrest warrants on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, against several sales intermediaries, known as "El-Habbata". They will be tried by the correctional chamber for the accusations against them.
The Ben Arous prosecutor's office had previously ordered agents from the economic and financial investigations sub-directorate of the El Gorjani judicial police directorate to place eleven of these "Habbata" in custody. These arrests took place at the end of last week during a nationwide campaign led by the Ministry of Interior in coordination with the control services of the Ministry of Trade, aimed at combating monopoly, speculation in markets, and price manipulation.
At the end of their custody, the eleven arrested individuals were presented to the Ben Arous Court of First Instance prosecutor's office on Wednesday. The prosecutor decided to place them in provisional detention and to bring them directly before the correctional chamber to be tried for the charges of hoarding, speculation, and price manipulation.
