Postal Services Disrupted with the United States
Eighty-six operators have completely or partially suspended their postal services with the United States, from Friday, August 29, to yesterday, Friday, September 5. This has resulted in a decline of over 81% in the volume of mail addressed to the United States. The Universal Postal Union (UPU) stated yesterday, Friday, that this is due to the introduction of new customs tariffs by Washington, according to local media reports.
