Bahrain Hosts the Largest Youth Sports Event in the Continent from October 22 to 31
Representing the King of Bahrain at the opening ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of the King for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs, and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, attended the event. Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasized that Bahrain's hosting of the session is part of its ongoing support for sports and youth, indicating that the event represents an opportunity to strengthen sports cooperation between the continent's nations and discover young talents who will represent Asia on the international stage in the future. He also praised the organizational efforts made to ensure the success of the event in record time, according to "Russia Today". The ceremony included an artistic performance combining Bahraini identity and Asian heritage, as well as a parade of participating nations, where the Bahraini delegation received a warm welcome. The Kingdom's flag was raised by athletes Abdullah Jamal Ahmed and Loula Al Dosari, while the sports and arbitration oaths were taken by Jannat Sharaf and Seeman Al Jahrami, as well as by referees Bader Faraj and Fatima Al Mutawaj. In conclusion, a filmed presentation of the Olympic flame's journey, which passed through Bahrain's governorates, was screened before it was officially lit by former Olympic champion Ruqaya Al Ghasra, in a moving scene that sparked a great reaction.
