Preparation for the 40th Edition of the Tunis International Book Fair
In preparation for the 40th edition of the Tunis International Book Fair, which will take place from April 23 to May 3, 2026, the organizing committee has announced the opening of applications for prizes in literary, intellectual, and publishing creation. The deadline for submitting applications is January 30, 2026.
Faithful to its tradition, the Book Fair aims to valorize the contributions of creators, researchers, and translators to national culture, while encouraging innovation and intellectual production.
Literary and Intellectual Creation Awards
Six awards, each endowed with a prize of 15,000 dinars, will be given:
- Béchir Khraïef Award for literary creation (novel)
- Ali Douagi Award for literary creation (short story)
- Fatma Haddad Award for philosophical writings
- Tahar Haddad Award for human and literary studies
- Mustapha Khraïef Award for literary creation (poetry)
- Sadek Mazigh Award for translation (to or from Arabic)
The selection process will take place in two stages: the announcement of a "short list" of finalists, followed by the proclamation of the winners during an official ceremony on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Publishing Awards
Two specific awards are also dedicated to publishing professionals, each endowed with 10,000 dinars:
- Abdelkader Ben Cheikh Award for the best publisher of children's and young adult literature
- Noureddine Ben Khidher Award for the best Tunisian publisher
The winners of these categories will also be announced during the ceremony on April 30, 2026.
