International Cocaine Trafficking Ring Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison
The criminal chamber of the Tunis First‑Instance Court handed down a 40‑year prison sentence and a fine of 300,000 Tunisian dinars to the leader of an international cocaine‑trafficking network.
According to a judicial source cited by Dawen FM, the network smuggled the drug from an African country into Tunisia in exchange for varying sums of money.
The court also sentenced the accomplices of the defendant—a young man and three women—to prison terms ranging from 20 to 30 years, each accompanied by a 300,000‑dinar fine.
The case file reveals that the accused employed unconventional methods to bring the cocaine into the country, notably concealing the drug in their underwear.
