National Energy Agency Aims to Install 374 Photovoltaic Power Plants
As part of the implementation of the energy transition program in public institutions, the National Agency for Energy Management (ANME) aims to install 374 photovoltaic power plants in over 330 institutions across the territory of the Republic, with a capacity of 39 megawatts, according to Karim Neffzi, Deputy Director of Solar Energy Administration at the Agency.
In a telephone intervention during the "Youm Saïd" (Happy Day) program, Karim Neffzi indicated that these power plants, once operational, will cover between 20% and 100% of electricity consumption. He specified that institutions connected to low voltage will cover 100% of their consumption, while those connected to high voltage will cover at least 20%, which will contribute to alleviating public finances.
Neffzi highlighted that more than 21 ministries are involved in the energy transition program in public institutions, emphasizing the awareness aspect on which the Agency has started working through awareness spots and urging citizens and agents to contribute to energy savings by rationalizing consumption.
He noted that the program aims to produce electricity from renewable energies, support energy efficiency operations, and reduce the electricity bill by using energy-saving lamps, more efficient and productive air conditioners, and installing solar energy.
Karim Neffzi stressed the importance of reducing energy waste, particularly in public institutions.
