Immediate Administrative and Judicial Proceedings Launched Following Alleged Child Abuse in Daycare
The Delegate General for Child Protection, Moncef Abdallah, announced on Thursday, February 12, 2026, the immediate launch of administrative and judicial proceedings following a report of a 3-year-old child suspected of being a victim of sexual aggression in a daycare center.
Key Measures Taken
According to Mr. Abdallah, coordination with law enforcement has allowed for the presence of a psychologist during the child's hearing at the competent unit's headquarters. This approach aims to:
- Ensure the child's psychological well-being
- Collect reliable testimony
The ministry has also implemented adapted psychological follow-up, with sessions provided by a psychiatrist in a public hospital, to support the child during this delicate period.
Commitment to Justice and Support
The Delegate General emphasized that all necessary legal measures would be taken as soon as the facts are confirmed and the investigations determine the responsibilities. He also reminded citizens that the ministry provides green numbers 1809 and 192 for:
- Listening
- Psychological support
- Guidance to facilitate the protection and support of children who are victims or exposed to dangerous situations.
