Festival Objectives
The 2nd edition of the International Sahara Film Festival is being held after a successful first edition that laid the foundation for a festival that showcases the culture of the Sahara and the Kébili region as a tourist, cultural, and cinematic destination. The objective is to boost "Sahrawi" tourism and introduce participants to the beauty of southern Tunisia, promote the decentralization of cultural activities, and bring cinema to remote areas of the country. The experience is conclusive, with the Theater Festival held every two years in alternation with the film festival.
Festival Program
The 2nd edition includes several sections, in addition to screening sessions, a scientific colloquium, meetings, and four workshops will be held throughout the festival. The realization workshop will be led by Zied Litayem, the music and photography workshop will be supervised by Karim Khlibi, the space and cinema workshop will be led by Iskander Tlili, and the actor in front of the camera workshop will be led by Daniela Jordano.
Competitions and Jury
Four competitions are scheduled, with four juries: a jury for young filmmakers, a jury for fiction films, a jury for documentary films, and a jury for young female directors of 60-minute films. A parallel program includes screenings, musical evenings, a theatrical performance on the big screen "Tidinit" around the theme of "Sahrawi" musical heritage in Africa, and digital live art performances presented by photographer Nour Jalouli.
Closing Ceremony
Singer Lobna Noâmane will offer a musical performance during the closing evening, which revolves around heritage, traditional music, and rhythmic music.
