Maher Ktari, Member of Parliament and Finance Committee Member, Shares Remarks on 2026 State Budget Review
The parliamentarian stated, during his intervention on Express Fm, that this review must be based on a detailed assessment of the achievements of 2025, considering this evaluation as a prerequisite for any discussion on the subject. He recalled that the planned calendar stipulates that debates on the finance bill project should take place between October and December, due to the fundamental importance of this text.
Ktari also mentioned a delay in the transmission by the government of two key documents to Parliament, which should have been communicated before July: the report on the execution of the 2025 budget and the document related to the state's general guidelines for 2026.
The deputy further emphasized the lack of dialogue between the Ministry of Finance and the competent parliamentary committee. He indicated that previous practices included joint work and exchanges of opinions, unlike the current situation where, according to him, the responses from the ministerial administration lack clarity.
The speaker pointed out the need to improve the effectiveness of economic decisions, whose concrete effects are not yet perceptible. He also questioned the stagnation of the guaranteed minimum wage and the persistence of high prices.
