Rainfall Quantities Reach 66% of Average Levels

The rainfall quantities recorded since the beginning of the agricultural season on September 1, 2025, have reached 66% of average levels, with 29.3 mm compared to an average of 43.9 mm for this period, according to agricultural expert Anis Ben Rayana on Saturday.

Regional Rainfall Distribution

The Northwest region has recorded the highest precipitation rate with 85% (65 mm), followed by the Southeast with 33% (9.7 mm). According to Ben Rayana, these rains have been particularly beneficial for the agricultural sector.

Record-Breaking Cereal Production

A record has been achieved for high-quality cereal seeds, with a production of 514,000 quintals, compared to 260,000 quintals in the previous season. The date harvest is also expected to be exceptional, with an estimated production of 404,000 tons, driven by strong domestic demand and exports to 85 countries.

Olive Oil Production

Regarding olive groves, olive oil production could exceed 500,000 tons and reach up to 510,000 tons. The expert called on the Ministry of Agriculture to modernize its strategy to develop production and conquer new export markets, thereby strengthening the position of Tunisian oil on the global market.
