Joint Control Operation in Bizerte

A vast control operation was conducted on Monday night into Tuesday, targeting all entrances to the city of Bizerte. The operation was carried out by the regional brigade of the municipal police and the regional directorate of commerce, with the support of Bizerte's security units.

According to a spokesperson from the regional brigade of the municipal police, quoted by the TAP agency, this operation resulted in the redirection of approximately 35.2 tonnes of vegetables, fruits, and legumes to the Jarzouna wholesale market.

The same spokesperson specified that this joint operation, which continued until dawn, strengthened controls on all means of transportation, particularly those used for transporting consumer goods. The goal was to ensure that these goods were transported through legal channels, in accordance with the decisions of the Regional Security Council and the Regional Committee for Price Control, anti-smuggling, and combating parallel trade.

Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that around 3 tonnes of fish were also redirected to the Bizerte fish market, in order to guarantee the regular supply of consumer products through official channels and contribute to price stabilization.

Furthermore, two trucks whose drivers had dumped waste on public roads and in common areas were seized during the same operation.
