Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity to Provide Aid to 120,000 Underprivileged Students

The President of the Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity, Naïma Jlassi, highlighted on Saturday that 120,000 students from disadvantaged and low-income families will benefit from the school aid program for the 2025-2026 academic year, with a total estimated value of 6 million dinars.

Jlassi added in a statement to the Tunisian News Agency (TAP) that this aid includes:

  • 70,000 textbooks as part of an agreement with the National Pedagogical Center, with a 23% discount for primary, secondary, and first-year high school students
  • 840,000 notebooks
  • 120,000 school bags containing 120,000 pencils and 120,000 pens

The President of the Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity emphasized that the financial value of the school aid comes partly from public funding, which amounts to 4,350 million dinars. She also highlighted that the aid includes the distribution of clothing and shoes worth approximately one million dinars.
