Health Ministry Confirms Recruitment Process for Nurses, Technicians, and Health Assistants

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the recruitment of nurses, technicians, and health assistants is being carried out in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 24 of 2025. This process relies on waiting lists established at the level of each governorate, without requiring the updating of registration requests for candidates already listed.

In response to two written questions from deputies Amal Moueddeb and Youssef Toumi regarding the implementation schedule of the 2026 Finance Law for the recruitment of health assistants listed on waiting lists, the Ministry clarified that the hiring process is based on objective and well-defined priority criteria. These criteria primarily take into account the age of the diploma obtained, followed by the highest average score at the end of studies. In the event of a tie, priority is given to the oldest candidate, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities for all.

Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized that candidates who have changed their governorate of residence are required to submit a request for updating with the Regional Health Directorate of their new region, in order to be automatically included at the end of the waiting list of the current session in that governorate.

In its response published on Wednesday by the Assembly of Representatives of the People (ARP) on its official website, the Ministry stated that Regional Health Directorates are responsible for displaying and publishing these waiting lists to the public, in accordance with the applicable legislative and regulatory texts, and to reinforce the principles of transparency.

Regarding the distribution of posts, the Ministry asserted that the quota of paramedical agents is allocated annually to the various health regions based on their real and urgent needs. This distribution takes into account the authorized budget posts, while giving priority to vital specialties required in sensitive services and for new health projects.

Finally, the institution reported that 500 health assistants were recruited under the 2024 budget, in addition to the allocation of 800 posts for the 2025 year distributed across all governorates of the Republic. For the 2026 year, the programming provides for the opening of 1,000 recruitment posts for health assistants.
