International Drug Trafficking Ring Dismantled in Tunisia
The criminal chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance sentenced four members of an international drug trafficking network to prison terms ranging from 15 to 30 years on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
The Conviction
The defendants, including two foreigners, were found guilty of forming a criminal organization aimed at smuggling narcotics into Tunisia by concealing them in air conditioners. They were caught red-handed at the La Goulette port upon their arrival from a European country.
The Seizure
Customs agents seized 10 kilograms of cocaine and 3,000 psychotropic tablets carefully hidden in the appliances. During their interrogation, the accused admitted to belonging to a network active in drug trafficking between Europe and Tunisia.
